Isuzu EA Launches the First Isuzu Service Centre in Africa

by Tullah Stephen

Truck and bus manufacturer Isuzu East Africa on Monday launched the first Isuzu Service Center in Africa at its assembly plant in Nairobi’s Industrial Area, as it marked off the international customer service week.

Speaking at the launch of the Service Center, Isuzu EA Managing Director Rita Kavashe lauded the Isuzu EA Aftersales division for successfully spearheading the rigorous Isuzu evaluation process to attain the certification.

“We are excited to launch the Isuzu Service Center today, the first of its kind in Africa,” said Ms Kavashe. “Since July 2017, our aftersales team has worked extremely hard to meet the quality standards required to qualify. There were 9 critical evaluation stages which they had to go through and perform well to be certified,” explained Ms Kavashe.

Ms Rita Kavashe highlighted the benefits of this transformation and what this would mean for Isuzu customers.

“We have doubled our service efficiency from a daily average of 45 vehicles to 90 vehicles. Customers will enjoy quick service turnaround of 2hrs for scheduled maintenance, access to our mobile service, field engineers and specialized fleet care. For our parts warehouse, we’ve set 15 minutes as the maximum waiting time for our customers”
she explained. “The Service Center is a fulfillment of our promise to our customers; to provide fast, reliable, advanced and professional vehicle services,” added Ms Kavashe.

Presiding over the commissioning of the Service Center, Director of the Board, and Managing Executive Officer of Isuzu Motors Limited, and President of Isuzu Motors International FZE, Makoto Kawahara, congratulated Isuzu EA and expressed support from Isuzu Motors.

“I am very delighted to witness the launch of the first ever Isuzu certified Service Center in Africa. This is a testimony of the company’s dedication and commitment to provide absolute, reliable and professional customer service; a promise of Tuko Pamoja Safarini,” said Mr. Kawahara.

As part of the international Customer Service Month and to commemorate the opening of the facility, Isuzu EA customers will enjoy up to 15 per cent discount on repairs between 8th October and 31st October, 2018. They will also be given a 5 per cent discount when they sign up a service contract. The first 200 pick-ups and mu-X customers will get free oil filters.

The Isuzu Service Center will operate from Monday till Saturday half-day, providing genuine Isuzu parts, specialized equipment and highly trained personnel. Customers can book for vehicle servicing and seek feedback through the Isuzu Customer Contact Center’s toll-free number 0800 724 724, or dial *824# on their mobile phones.
