Guinness, the Official Beer of the Premier League, treated football fans at the Coast to an exciting two-day live football viewing experience over the weekend. The Guinness Matchday event at the Yacht Lounge in Mtwapa featured live screenings of English Premier League (EPL) matches and commentary from prominent Kenyan football personalities.
Fans were thrilled by the presence of renowned pundits, including Manchester United superfan Maina Kageni, Manchester City enthusiast Lotan Salapei, and Arsenal loyalist Carol Radull. The Guinness Matchday committee, comprising Chairman G Money, Chief Snacks Officer Nana Owiti, Chief Vibes Officer Willis Raburu, and media personality Silva Kido, further energized the event.
Saturday’s line-up featured several EPL matches, highlighted by the much-anticipated Arsenal vs. Everton clash, which ended in a 0-0 draw after a tense 90-minute battle. Sunday’s big event was the high-stakes Manchester Derby, where Manchester United secured a 2-1 victory over Manchester City. Despite the loss, City fan Alphonse Mwari had a reason to celebrate after winning an all-expenses-paid trip to the UK to watch a live EPL match. Mwari emerged victorious in the Guinness Cleansheet challenge, outshining 35 participants in the first draw and 11 finalists.
