Airtel Africa has launched a campaign with musicians Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), and Simi (Nigeria) to educate customers on optimizing data usage.
The initiative, #SmartaWithData, uses a custom song by the artists to share practical tips for managing data bundles, targeting users aged 18–35 in Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, DRC, Zambia, and Malawi.
The campaign encourages customers to adjust data settings, manage speeds, and adopt smarter habits for browsing, streaming, and app usage.
Rohit Marwha, Airtel Africa’s Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, said the partnership leverages the artists’ influence to deliver relatable messages.
“Our goal is to help customers maximize their data for better online experiences, whether for work or leisure,” he added.
Users can access data bundles via USSD, the MyAirtel App, or the lightweight Airtel Lite app. The campaign also invites customers to share their own data-saving tips on social media.
Airtel’s push aligns with Africa’s rising internet adoption, aiming to equip users with skills to navigate digital services efficiently. The blend of music and education reflects a broader telecom trend to simplify tech literacy through culturally relevant content.
