The world football governing body FIFA has on Thursday 31st March 2022 ratified the suspension of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) from international football.
The Fifa Congress in Qatar, through a a landslide poll by the FIFA Council Members saw 198 Fifa members vote for the suspension while one voted in favor of Kenya.
“It is therefore recommended that the Congress confirms the suspension of the Football Kenya Federation enabling the council to lift the suspension immediately and as soon as the pertinent requirements have been fulfilled,” said Infantino.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that the suspension will be lifted immediately after Kenya reinstates the ousted Football Kenya Federation which was disbanded by the government on grounds of misappropriation of funds.
• The Fifa Council suspended the FKF on February 24, 2022 with immediate effect due to third-party (government) interference.
