COVID-19 death toll in Kenya rises to 472 after 7 die

COVID-19 death toll in Kenya has now risen to 472 after the Ministry of Health reported 7 coronavirus related deaths in the last 24 hours.

The country’s fatality rate now stand at 1.58 per cent.

At the same time, the Ministry has reported 672 new recoveries from the disease, raising the country’s recovery to 15,970.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi says of the new recoveries 607 were from the home care based program.

Mwangangi spoke when she reported 515 new COVID-19 cases from 6,353 samples in the last 24 hours, with Kitui’s caseload becoming the second highest at 51 after Nairobi.

CAS Mwangangi said of the new cases, 19 are foreigners.
