Epson today announced the opening of a significantly expanded regional office in Nairobi, underscoring its commitment to East Africa as a priority growth market within its wider Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Central & West Asia (META-CWA) region.
The investment comes amid rising demand for business printing and visual solutions across emerging markets, where companies increasingly value local support and reliable access to technology.
Epson has invested KES 19,417,500 in the Nairobi expansion, growing its office footprint by 50% compared with its previous premises in Kenya and building greater capacity to support regional operations.
The move is part of Epson’s broader regional growth strategy, as the company continues expanding its network of offices, demonstration facilities and support infrastructure to bring its technology and expertise closer to partners and customers in high-potential markets.
Alongside this expansion, Epson is advancing its sustainability efforts through investment in renewable energy and energy-efficient technology. The company has extended its use of renewable energy certificates (RECs) to 10 sites across the region, including offices in Kenya, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Türkiye, Israel, Ukraine, and the UAE Experience Centre.
Between March 2025 and April 2026, Epson purchased 416 MWh of RECs to match the combined electricity consumption of these sites — part of its ongoing decarbonisation efforts under its global Environmental Vision 2050, which targets carbon negativity and zero underground resource consumption by 2050.
“Sustainability is central to our growth strategy,” said Neil Colquhoun, President, Epson META-CWA. “Epson’s philosophy of efficient, compact and precise engineering means our environmental commitments and our business growth move in the same direction. As we continue to expand across the META-CWA region, we’re bringing that same philosophy to every market we invest in, including here in Kenya.”
The expanded facility features a dedicated showroom and demonstration area, giving partners and customers the chance to experience Epson’s latest printing, projection and visual technologies first-hand. It also boosts capacity for training, partner enablement and in-market service across the region.
“Our new office here in Nairobi is a good example of what our commitment to customers looks like in practice,” said Mukesh Bector, Epson’s Regional Head for East and West Africa. “It creates a hub where partners and customers can experience our technology first-hand, access training and work directly with our local team.”
That commitment extends from Epson’s own operations to the technology it develops, with efficiency built into its latest product portfolio.
“When we talk about sustainability, we want it to be something customers can feel directly – through lower energy use, less ink waste and efficient performance,” said Gareth Jay, Regional Sales Director, Epson Africa. “That is the kind of efficiency we want to keep building into the products we bring to this market.”
