Kenya records 836 new Covid-19 cases

Kenya has 38 Covid-19 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and has recorded 836 new positive cases in the past 24 hours raising the country’s total caseload to 50, 833.

In a statement sent to media houses by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe (pictured) said the new cases are from 4,076 samples which push the country’s cumulative tests to 666, 122.

In terms of gender, 618 are male and 218 are female while the youngest case is four-month-old and the oldest is aged 89.

Of the new cases, 822 are Kenyans while 14 are foreigners.

On a positive note, 403 patients recovered with 250 on the home-based care programme while 153 were discharged from various hospitals bringing the total number of recoveries to 34, 832.
