Kenyan creators earn Sh 47 million in first year of TikTok for Business

Kenyan creators have earned over Sh47 million (USD 350,000) during the first year of TikTok for Business in Kenya, as brands and advertisers increasingly leverage the platform to reach mobile-first audiences.

Since its launch, TikTok for Business has established key local partnerships to strengthen its presence. Aleph Holdings has supported sales and operations, while Wowzi manages creator collaborations, helping brands tap into local talent for campaigns that drive measurable results.

Over 200 local creators have benefited from these partnerships, working with businesses across fintech, e-commerce, retail, and consumer goods.

Branch MFB, a regulated microfinance bank, emerged as a standout performer, using TikTok’s optimisation tools to exceed campaign benchmarks while maintaining cost efficiency.

E-commerce platform Kilimall also recorded strong results, generating over 152,000 purchases and a six-fold increase in sales after deploying TikTok’s automation and full-funnel measurement tools.

In the consumer goods space, Godrej Aer leveraged mobile-native storytelling and creator collaborations to drive more than 10 million video views, double monthly sales, and secure a sustained 33 percent market share.

Kenya’s creative talent was further recognised at the TikTok Ad Awards for the METAP region (Middle East, Turkey, Africa, Pakistan), where the SKYTok campaign by SKY Girls Kenya won Bronze in the Community Core category, celebrating authentic engagement with local communities.

Jochen Bischoff, Head of Global Business Solutions, Africa at TikTok, said the first-year results demonstrate the power of combining creativity and performance on the platform.

“These early achievements are just the beginning,” he noted, highlighting growing adoption and commercial impact among Kenyan businesses.

Mike Otieno, Co-founder of Wowzi, added that Kenyan creators have become key drivers of brand growth, with authentic storytelling translating into real business results and shaping a thriving local creator economy.

As TikTok for Business continues to expand in Kenya, the platform remains focused on providing brands, agencies, and creators with the tools, insights, and support needed to succeed in an increasingly digital-first market.
