President Uhuru Kenyatta has suspended High Court Judge Said Chitembwe following a petition by JSC over alleged gross misconduct.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has suspended High Court Judge Said Chitembwe following a petition by JSC over alleged gross misconduct.

The President has also appointed a 7-member tribunal headed by Court of Appeal Judge Mumbi Ngugi to investigate the allegations leveled against Chitembwe.

Through a press statement, the president noted that the petition filed against judge Chitmbwe contains grave allegations regarding the conduct of the judge.

He further added that allegations of gross misconduct on a judge erode the faith of Kenyans in the fair administration of justice.

The tribunal is tasked with determining his suitability to continue serving as a Judge
