A UK firm, Vespertec, won a £1.8 million contract to supply high-performance hardware and systems to Kenya.
With the help of UK Export Finance (UKEF), the government’s export credit agency, Vespertec, a technology firm based in Stockport that specialises in data centre and AI infrastructure, was able to secure a £1.8 million export contract to Kenya.
On behalf of Atlancis, a cloud services company with headquarters in Kenya, UKEF gave Apple Bank a Standard Buyer Loan Guarantee (SBLG). AF Capital, Apple Bank’s UK servicer, arranged the loan. Atlancis was able to buy high-performance systems and hardware from Vespertec thanks to this financial support.
The resulting contract is a reflection of the increasing demand from throughout the world for UK expertise in cloud and data centre infrastructure, especially in markets that are investing in digital resilience. Additionally, it shows how UK exporters can take advantage of complicated, high-value possibilities in emerging markets by using government-backed export support.
The deal represents a major advancement in Vespertec’s global expansion and strengthens the company’s current partnership with Atlancis. The most recent contract strengthens Vespertec’s standing as a reliable partner for challenging infrastructure projects outside of Europe by building on its first Kenyan order.
With a large percentage of the equipment designed, manufactured, or integrated in the UK, the project has helped Vespertec’s Stockport operations and its UK supply chain continue to flourish. Additionally, Vespertec is experiencing rapid expansion at the time of the arrangement.
In the fiscal year that concluded in 2025, the company’s revenue more than doubled, and it was listed among the Sunday Times’ Top 100 fastest-growing private enterprises. Vespertec, a winner of Nvidia’s 2025 Northern Europe Star Performer award and one of a few NVIDIA Elite partners, is witnessing an increase in demand for its data center and AI infrastructure knowledge on a global scale.
