Dan Kwach to head Africa Data Centres’ operations as regional MD

Africa Data Centres (ADC), part of Liquid Intelligent Technologies has appointed Dan Kwach to the newly-created  position of MD for East Africa region.

The appointment, a promotion to Kwach, will see him ensure the alignment of ADC Leadership structure across different African regions.

Kwach will be required to lead, direct and execute the sales strategy for the Africa Data Centres business in the East Africa region while taking responsibility to direct the business to achieve maximum returns on invested capital and for all Sales operations in compliance with goals, policies, and objectives established by the CEO and the Board of Directors.

He will also drive financial growth aligned to key business objectives, delivering profitable sales and market share by achieving revenue targets.

Prior to his current role, Kwach – a Liquid Intelligent Technologies Group veteran who joined the group in early 2006 – served as the founding Project Manager in charge of the Data Centre operations from inception in 2009 under the Kenya Data Networks (KDN) brand, building the first, Uptime Institute-accredited Tier III Data Centre in East Africa in Nairobi as a result.

Based on the technical experience gained, and being the only Accredited Tier Specialist in Kenya by Uptime Institute, Kwach would thereafter take up the task of being the Product Manager of the Data Centre, achieving the feet of leading in Product Plan Development, Sales Training, and Execution of the Sales Strategy that led to East Africa Data Centre’s (EADC’s) commercial success today as most connected site. The facility serves over 30 Carriers, has a strong base of enterprise customers drawn from the banking and financial services industry as well as hyperscale customers now leveraging on the strong ecosystem already in place.

He was later promoted to the GM position after KDN’s rebrand to Liquid Telecom Kenya as a Carrier Neutral Data Centre under the brand name East Africa Data Centre (EADC), a position he held until his new appointment to the role of MD of ADC as the leader of the EA business having now transitioned to a Hyperscale, full carrier, and cloud-neutral Data Centre player with operations and facilities across different regions in the continent.

Before joining ADC, Kwach served at KDN as a Network Technician, forming the Operations and Maintenance Department and founding the 2nd Level Engineering Function. He also had a stint at Altech Sameer East Africa as the Project Manager of the Data Centre.
