Safaricom (NSE: SCOM) has launched ‘Shangwe @25’, a nationwide promotion celebrating 25 years of connecting and transforming lives across Kenya. The campaign rewards customers with prizes while extending benefits to communities through shared impact projects.
The promotion will create 25 new millionaires, with each winner receiving KES 1 million plus an additional KES 250,000 to fund a community project of their choice, ensuring every win creates a ripple effect that uplifts both individuals and their communities.
Small and micro businesses stand to gain significantly, with 25 enterprises winning Bajaj Tricycles to enhance business mobility. Additionally, five small and micro businesses will win stock worth KES 250,000 every week. For larger enterprises, 15 medium and large businesses will each receive KES 500,000 toward community projects of their choice.
Other prizes include airtime, data bundles, 5G routers, mobile devices, and instant M-PESA cash rewards ranging from KES 100 to KES 10,000.
This festive season introduces the ‘Green Box’ experience, offering customers surprises from devices to festive treats including chicken, goats, and sheep, bringing celebration to homes nationwide.
“For 25 years, Safaricom has been central to Kenya’s transformation, connecting people to people, opportunities, and knowledge. As we mark this milestone, we celebrate the millions of customers, partners, and communities who made it possible. ‘Shangwe @25’ is our thank you, ensuring when one customer wins, their community wins too,” said Peter Ndegwa, Safaricom Group CEO.
