Irish embassy, on Saturday, hosted an Education Fair in Kenya to highlight education opportunities and programmes that are available in Ireland across various disciplines.

The event brought together students, parents, teachers, education agents, educational institutions and the Irish Embassy to showcase the benefits of studying in Ireland.

Ireland has a centuries-old tradition of educational excellence, a tradition they are proud of and committed to maintaining.

Today, graduates from Irish universities are welcome by employers in every industry and in every corner of the globe.

Speaking at the education fair, the Ambassador of Ireland to Kenya, Fionnuala Quinlan said that they offer world-class courses in Ireland.

“Kenyans coming to Ireland can be assured that there are very friendly ties between the two nations,” she said.

She added that there is a real alignment of sectors of interest between Kenya and Ireland economies particularly in Agriculture, Food Science and Technology.

“We are second in the world in terms of quality of our Agriculture, Food Science and Technology programs,”

Nick Marmion, Manager of Africa and Middle East (Education in Ireland) said that they are interested and focussed in the student experience.

“We want Kenyan students who come to Ireland to feel the warmth of the welcome,” Marmion said.

He added that Ireland has the highest university completion rate in Europe, “There is a strong duty of care for international students on campus to ensure that they settle and have a good experience.”

Ireland has 31 higher education institutions that offer an impressive 5000 quality assured programmes, providing a myriad of great career-starting opportunities for aspiring Kenyan students in Ireland.

Students who choose to study in Ireland are assured of competent qualifications, with a diverse range of courses in, business, science and technology, language, humanities and arts that are recognised internationally.

International students can choose to meet their educational needs in business schools, centres of scientific and technology excellence as well as renowned language, humanities and arts faculties.
