Kenchic’s Thika Processing Plant Achieves FSSC 22000 Certification

Kenchic has achieved the Food Safety System Certification (FSSC 22000 2018 V 5.1- 2022) for its state-of-the-art processing plant located in Thika.

The certification, awarded following a comprehensive audit process, underscores Kenchic’s unwavering commitment to food safety and quality.

Jim Tozer, Managing Director at Kenchic Ltd, said that the certification reaffirms their dedication to ensuring that customers receive the highest quality poultry products.

We have been a trailblazer in setting food safety standards since 2011 when we got our first FSSC 22000 certification, and this recognition is a testament to our ongoing commitment to uncompromising quality.

The audit evaluated various aspects of Kenchic’s operations, including the slaughtering of chickens, the processing of raw fresh and frozen poultry products, raw further processed products, and ready-to-eat products.

Kenchic’s processing structures and production floors were found to be flawless, and the audit revealed commendable Good Manufacturing Practices findings.

The certification demonstrates Kenchic’s ability to ensure adherence to statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements and the effectiveness of its systems in achieving its objectives and identifying areas of improvement.
