The GSMA Mobile World Congress (MWC) Kigali is returning to the Kigali Convention Center from October 29-31, 2024.
As Africa’s largest and most influential connectivity event, MWC Kigali is poised to attract a number of innovators and political leaders from across the continent, all focused on propelling the digital economy and fostering socio-economic growth.
This year’s program promises an exciting array of keynotes and panel discussions led by industry luminaries and influential enterprises.
The themes will revolve around critical issues such as the Connected Continent, The AI Future, FinTech advancements, and Africa’s Digital DNA.
Headlining the event are notable speakers including Sunil Taldar, CEO of Airtel Africa; Kate Kallot, Founder & CEO of Amini; GSMA’s Director General Mats Granryd; and Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the ITU, among many others.
A highlight of this year’s event includes the inaugural GSMA Ministerial Programme in Africa, uniting the continent’s top telecommunications leaders to engage in discussions about vital policy and regulatory topics.
The Mobile for Development (M4D) initiative will continue to be a central feature of MWC Kigali. M4D will curate the ‘Mobile for Development Theatre’, showcasing sessions that explore topics such as AI’s impact, humanitarian innovation, agriculture, climate change, digital inclusion, and gender equality. The Mobile Money Leadership Forum will also return, spotlighting the latest trends and innovations in mobile financial services.
Keynotes at MWC Kigali will address pressing digital connectivity challenges in Africa. They will cover how digital technologies catalyze socio-economic development, the transformative potential of AI, the rapid evolution of the fintech landscape, and amplifying African content creators on global platforms.
