Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta has extended the countrywide curfew by 60 days but extended its timings from 11pm-4am effective today.
He has also lifted the ban on the sale of alcohol by bars and restaurants but insisting on the closure by 10 pm.The move will enlarge the economic contribution of these sectors as a lot of employees resume to work.
The president has however cautioned the members of the public to adhere to set guidelines to avoid spread of the Corona pandemic.
“If indeed we are to shift our response from tactic to strategic intervention, we must do a simulation of how this will work. A shift from symptomatic response of Covid-19 to structural response under universal health coverage must be well thought out,”
The President further raised the maximum number of guests at funerals and weddings from 100 to 200 and said churches can host up to a third of their capacities.
