Waterfront Mall, Naivas Supermarket sign Tenancy Agreement

The Waterfront Mall, Karen and Naivas Supermarket have announced the signing of an agreement that will see the superstore chain set up its 66th outlet at the Mall.

The store will occupy 3500 m2 at the mall’s ground floor space, offering shoppers the Food market shopping experience with a Focus on everyday fresh produce that guarantees value for money.

Commenting on the development, Waterfront Karen Director, Dr. David Muguku, said the move fits within the mall’s strategic objective to enhance variety for the shoppers.

“We are pleased to welcome Naivas Supermarket on board as a partner who we believe fits perfectly within our growth and expansion strategy. The partnership has been motivated by the need to continually offer shoppers at the mall a wide variety of brands.

“Naivas will be the latest addition to the Waterfront fraternity. This confirms our sustained commitment to continue offering Waterfront patrons a lasting experience all under one stable,” he said.

On its part, Naivas says the new store will offer 120 jobs directly and twice the number to third-party partners. Pointing to the outlet’s continued plan to promote local businesses while offering employment opportunities to Kenyans.

Speaking after the signing, Naivas Chief Commercial Officer, Willy Kimani said:

“We are delighted at the prospect of opening our 66th store at the Waterfront Mall as it offers us an exciting opportunity to provide Karen shoppers the Naivas Foodmarket experience at their doorstep. We have not had a presence in the larger Karen area which has been a long-standing request by our shoppers, we are finally able to fulfill this with the new development.

The store is scheduled to open in mid-October 2020.
