Kenya: 110 COVID-19 Patients Recover, 2 die

A total of 110 COVID-19 patients have been declared free of the disease, after undergoing treatment.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe says 39 of those who have recovered were under the home-based programme while the remaining 71 were discharged from various hospitals.

This has raised the numbers of recoveries to 23,887.

The disease also claimed 2 lives, raising the fatality rate to 648. 

Kagwe, in a statement, also revealed that 152 new COVID-19 cases were recorded after testing 2,224 samples across the country.

This raises the country’s caseload to 36,981 since the first positive cases was reported in March.

The youngest victim is a 3-year-old baby while the oldest is aged 89 years.

Nairobi leads with the number of new coronavirus cases with 34 followed by Mombasa County, which has 24 new cases.
