World Bank partners with Kenya to launch energy plan

Kenya in partnership with World Bank is on September 16 expected to launch the Kenya Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy, a plan of action aimed at optimizing energy efficiency and conservation.

The strategy, which will be held virtually, is a roadmap towards achievement of energy efficient goals that is expected to have a positive impact on Kenya’s economy.

As part of its agenda, KNEECS is expected to be a priority area by the Government to enhance the life of Kenyans through improved energy security and reduced pollution from fuel use and power generation.

The session will cover among others, the strategy to achieve energy efficiency goals and how the public and private partners will work together to meet the target.

Among the key speakers who will grace the event include Energy Principal secretary Joseph Njoroge, World Bank Senior Advisor, Keith Hansen and Mark Radka who is UNEP’s chief of Energy Climate.
