Glovo has partnered with South African restaurant chain News Cafe in a move that seeks to expand the restaurants market footprint in the country.

The partnership with Glovo will enable the food delivery firm to cater to varied clients within Nairobi.

Speaking while announcing the partnership on Thursday, Glovo’s General Manager for Kenya William Benthall, said that the move will benefit News Cafe’s customers while also positioning Glovo as a visible brand.

“We are proud of this partnership and we look forward to delivering News Cafe products to our consumers spread across Nairobi. We know how niche the News Cafe customer is and it is a great pleasure for us to be able to offer our services to this particular market segment,” said Benthall.

“Our desire to be the top-of-mind delivery app necessitated our entry into this partnership and we look forward to enabling our new consumer base access News Cafe products from wherever they are in Nairobi,” said Mr. Benthall.

“We believe that this partnership will help us achieve our broader strategy of being a one-stop-shop for all our customer’s needs and deliveries,” he added.

According to Mr Benthall, the partnership with News Cafe is in line with the company’s strategy that entails linking customers with niche outlets including Java House Africa, Artcaffe, Simbisa Brands, Zucchini Greengrocers, Naivas and Onn the Way Supermarkets.
