Cloud computing company, Oracle Kenya has reiterated its committment to assist corporates and small and medium organisations in their digital transformation journey for a push to further drive digital transformation and encourage the adoption of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions.
Speaking on Tuesday during the Oracle Africa Digital day, Abdul Rahman Al Thehaiban, Oracle Senior Vice President – Technology for Middle East and Africa said Africa is a priority market for Oracle and we are committed to support Africa’s Industry 4.0 preparedness with our latest Cloud solutions.
“With total cloud revenues, including IaaS reaching US$1.2 billion in our Q3 of the 2017 fiscal year, Oracle is well positioned to support Africa’s digital transformation revolution that will act as a catalyst for social and economic growth.”
According to Al Thehaiban, Oracle estimates that by 2025, 80 per cent of the IT budgets will be spent on the cloud service. ”By this time, we also likely to have 80 per cent of the IT budget spent on business innovation and only 20% on system maintenance.”
Oracle’s Cluster Leader for Africa, Cherian Varghese said that some of these estimations have already started being evident. “As cloud adoption continues to increase in Africa, organisations are now looking to transition several of their business functions to the cloud for maximum ROI.”
The Oracle Africa Digital Day was held silmutaneosuly in 25 African countries. From Burkina Faso to Zimbabwe, and from Kenya to Madagascar, Oracle experts fanned out across the continent to showcase how the industry’s broadest array of Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offerings can help businesses achieve unmatched value and performance.
“The Oracle digital day event was an opportunity for us to present our Gen 2 IaaS solutions that enable organisations to run any workload at any time, while innovative migration tools pave the way by simplifying how organizations migrate on-premise workloads to the cloud,” added Varghese.
Oracle Cloud IaaS offers a set of core capabilities, such as elastic compute, storage, networking, bare metal, migration tools, and container that helps businesses quickly increase value and performance.
