Fuel prices remain unchanged in the latest review

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has retained pump prices for the fourth consecutive month for the period between February 15 and March 14.

In the announcement made by EPRA on Tuesday, February 14, a litre of petrol will retail at Sh129.72 in Nairobi, while diesel for Sh110.60 per liter on the other hand Kerosene will continue retailing at Sh103.54 per litre.

In Mombasa, Super Petrol will continue retailing at sh. 127.46, Diesel sh. 108.36 and Kerosene at sh101.29 while in Nakuru Super petrol will retail at sh129.24, Diesel sh110.43 and Kerosene at sh103.39. In Kisumu, the pump prices will remain constant at  Ksh130.12 (Petrol), Ksh111.30 (Diesel) and Ksh104.26 (Kerosene).

The authority retained the prices despite a drop in the landing cost.

The landed cost of imported Super petrol decreased by 0.86 per cent from USD 601.97 (Sh68,276) per cubic meter in December to USD 596.79 (Sh67,825.18) in January. However, Diesel increased by 7.11 per cent from $565.92 per cubic meter to $606.16 per cubic meter while Kerosene decreased by 7.04 per cent to 534.38 (Sh60,732.29) per cubic meter.

“The prices are inclusive of the 8% Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2018, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2020 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020. said EPRA director general Daniel Kiptoo.
