Kisumu Railways recovers land from Oburu Odinga

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) recovered a parcel of land worth 60 million in Kisumu. that was acquired by Kendeep Construction Company owned by East African Legislative Assembly MP Oburu Odinga.

The land was repossessed by the Kisumu Railways Corporation after an 8-year stint in court. Twalib Mbarak, EACC Chief Executive Officer welcomed the ruling saying it was a milestone for the graft agency.

“In the wake of the presidential directive concerning repossession of the Kenya Railways land and the ongoing construction of the Kisumu Port, this is quite a milestone for the anti-graft body,” said EACC Chief Executive Officer Mr Twalib Mbarak.

Mr Mbarak said that the ruling would serve as a warning to other land grabbers in the region.
