MacCoffee appreciate the elderly ahead of the International Day of the family

The Ministry of Labour, jointly held a Medical Camp at the Mji Wa Huruma with the Hindu Council of Kenya and MacCoffee to support and appreciate the elderly at the home.

This comes ahead of the International Day of the Family (IDOF) which is observed on the 15th of May every year across the globe to spread awareness about the importance of families and the role of communities in the development of families.

Receiving the items on behalf of Mji Wa Huruma, Lissel Mogaka Director Social Development State Department for social protection(Ministry of Labour&social Protection) expressed appreciation to MacCoffee and the Hindu Council of Kenya for the support and commended the companies for showing care and giving back to the society.

Speaking at the event he said that they are very grateful to MacCoffee and the Hindu council for coming and supporting the elderly.

“Hopefully this will be the beginning of the close collaboration of working together to meet the needs of the community.”

The International Day of the Family (IDOF) is observed on the 15th of May every year across the globe to spread awareness about the importance of families and the role of communities in the development of families.

The International Day of the Family (IDOF) was proclaimed by the United Nation’s General Assembly in 1993 through resolution A/RES/47/1237 and was first commemorated on 15th May 1994. Every year the UN provides the theme that guides activities to IDOF.

The UN theme this year will be” socially just transition towards sustainable development. The role of digital technologies on social development and well-being of all” with a subtheme “The impact of new technologies on the well-being of families.

Speaking at the event, MacCoffee Regional head Abhishek Rana said that MacCoffee has recently been involved in supporting the frontline workers including the security work force who are right at the frontline in enforcing measures to contain the spread of Covid 19.

“We remain committed to supporting those providing essential services while leading the fight against COVID-19. MacCoffee strategic collaboration with the Hindu Council of Kenya to support frontline institutions and the community in general is a demonstration of our commitment to work with all stakeholders to help win the fight against Covid-19”.
