On 28 November 2026, Uhuru Park transforms into the setting for Red Bull Scramboo, an event built around creativity, craftsmanship, riding skill and personality in equal measure.
What exactly is Red Bull Scramboo?
Teams of three are challenged to dream up, design and construct their own unconventional bike based on a theme of their choosing. Entrants were pushed to think as boldly as possible — the wilder the theme, the better.
The concept draws on the nostalgia of “Scrambooooo,” a Kenyan phrase tied to riding with flair — pulling off moves, showing out, and making it clear who owns the flashiest style on two wheels. Red Bull Scramboo takes that spirit of self-expression and builds it into a full participatory event.
And this is far from a typical cycling race.
After the concept submission stage, 35 teams made up of 105 participants were chosen to turn their ideas into reality. Those teams are now deep in the build phase, crafting their bikes, putting together team costumes, and rehearsing an opening skit for race day.
Everything comes together on 28 November, when teams race their creations down an obstacle-packed course at Uhuru Park. The goal: complete the track as quickly as possible while keeping their builds in one piece.
Speed alone won’t decide the winner, though. A five-person judging panel will score teams on the creativity of their bikes, their opening performances, and their costumes.
At its core, Red Bull Scramboo puts everyday creators front and center, giving them room to imagine, build and perform.
“Red Bull Scramboo is really a celebration of how Kenyans create, express themselves and have fun. It takes something we all remember from childhood — customizing our bikes and showing off our style — and puts it on a whole new stage,” says Patrick Odong’o, Red Bull Athlete and Red Bull Scramboo Judge.
No professional cycling background is needed. Red Bull Scramboo is built to break away from traditional notions of what a cycling competition looks like. These bikes aren’t just built for speed — they’re statements from the teams behind them.
