Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL) has appointed Kennedy Mutula as its new Head of Marketing in the Commercial Function strengthening the company’s commercial leadership as it continues to accelerate growth across its portfolio of local and international brands.

Mutula joins KWAL from East African Breweries Limited (EABL), where he built an accomplished career spanning multiple senior marketing and commercial roles. Most recently, he served as Head of Mainstream Spirits & RTD Category and Marketing Manager, Spirits, leading category strategy and brand growth within one of East Africa’s leading FMCG companies.

With extensive experience in brand building, portfolio management and commercial strategy, Mutula has also served as Senior Brand Manager Tusker, Shopper Manager Guinness, and Assistant Brand Manager Guinness & Portfolio Beers at EABL. During his time at EABL, Mutula built an accomplished career across sales, marketing and category leadership, earning a reputation for delivering brand growth and commercial excellence

Mutula holds a Master of Science in Innovation and Entrepreneur Management and a Bachelor of Commerce in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, both from the University of Nairobi.

In his new role at KWAL, Mutula will lead the development and execution of the company’s marketing, brand and portfolio strategies across its diverse range of local and international brands. He will be responsible for driving sustainable business growth, strengthening brand equity, and delivering marketing initiatives that meet evolving consumer needs while advancing the company’s commercial objectives.

His appointment reflects KWAL’s continued commitment to investing in experienced leadership to drive innovation, build stronger brands, and enhance its position in Kenya’s dynamic beverage market.
