Looking ahead to 2024, Radisson Hotel Group anticipates a significant year with the planned opening of 14 new hotels across various countries in the Middle East and Africa.

In 2023, Radisson Hotel Group bolstered its standing as a prominent international hotel group in the Middle East and Africa by finalizing agreements for 22 hotels, resorts, and serviced apartments, resulting in an addition of over 3,800 rooms to its regional portfolio. This endeavor aligns with the group’s vision of positioning itself among the top three global hotel brands while remaining the preferred choice for owners, guests, and employees.

Globally, the Group concluded 2023 with remarkable growth, augmenting its international portfolio by over 30,000 keys across its 10 leading brands through new openings and signings. This marks a nearly 50% increase in business since the inception of its transformation plan in 2018. Notably, the Group achieved a new company record by adding over 30,000 keys to its portfolio through both openings and signings.

Looking ahead to 2024, Radisson Hotel Group anticipates a significant year with the planned opening of 14 new hotels across various countries in the Middle East and Africa. These openings underscore the Group’s commitment to providing exceptional hospitality experiences while addressing the escalating demand for premium accommodation in these regions.

Continuing its expansion momentum in Africa, the Group secured eight hotel signings in 2023, contributing over 1,600 rooms to its growing African portfolio. This progress positions the Group well towards its goal of reaching 150 hotels in Africa within the next five years, surpassing its current count of 100 hotels.

In addition, the Group ventured into new markets with signings such as the Radisson Blu Beach Resort & Spa in Gambia and the Radisson Hotel Benin City in Nigeria. Moreover, signings like the Radisson Collection Hotel & Conference Center in Abuja and the Radisson RED Lagos VI further solidified the Group’s leading position in Nigeria, expanding its portfolio to 12 hotels and over 1700 rooms.

Ramsay Rankoussi, Vice President of Business Development for Africa and Turkey at Radisson Hotel Group, outlined the priorities for Africa in 2024, emphasizing five planned hotel openings and the introduction of the Radisson Collection brand in Egypt with Radisson Residences Cairo Heliopolis.

In Morocco, the Group is set to enhance its portfolio with the opening of Radisson Hotel Casablanca Gauthier, marking the debut of the Radisson brand. In South Africa, the Group will inaugurate Radisson Hotel Middelburg, its 12th hotel in the country, following the successful launch of Radisson Safari Hotel Hoedspruit, its first safari hotel in Africa.

Radisson Hotel Group has emerged as the fastest-growing hotel group in Africa over the past three years, with 20 hotel openings across the continent, achieving a commendable 15% annual growth in its African portfolio.

In the Middle East, the Group opened over 1,000 keys in the past year and is on track to open 2,000 keys in 2024. With aspirations to operate or develop 150 properties across the Middle East by 2030, the Group unveiled new hotels in Oman and Saudi Arabia while signing agreements for properties in Jordan, Iraq, and Pakistan.

Additionally, the Group received recognition for its commitment to responsible travel and tourism, winning the Sustainable Business Award at the Global Travel Hall of Fame and the Environmental Impact Award at A World for Travel.
