Kenya Mpya Bus Rams into Lorry Along Thika Superhighway

Scores have suffered injuries with at least one person succumbing to the accident ordeal along Thika Superhighway.

This comes after a bus belonging to Kenya Mpya rammed into a lorry on the busy highway earlier this noon.

The Kasarani OCPD Peter Mwanzo confirmed the accident explaining that the driver lost control after the brakes failed near the Roysambu area, Nairobi county.

The officer went on to detail that the driver had suffered multiple leg injuries, while those who had severe injuries were rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital as passengers who had minor injuries went to get care at Neema Uhai Hospital in Kasarani.

The police boss also pointed out that the accident caused high traffic to befuddle along the superhighway as paramedics, and police officers were rushed to the scene, adding that the situation was under control.

There have been multiple accidents witnessed this Monday along various busy roads as there was also a towing vehicle loaded with a car overturning along Mombasa road which slightly affected the traffic flow for an hour.

There were reports of a matatu that landed in a ditch along Mlolongo on the route to Nairobi.

According to reports, there was also an accident near Sarit Center in Westlands, that is along waiyaki way as two buses collided and one person sustained severe injuries.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has constantly given motorists caution against speeding and gone ahead to urge them about being extra careful.

This admonishing comes amid this rainy season that is causing fogs which then leads to poor visibility, road slipperiness sometimes in various places.
